Biography
Jay joined the Daily News more than nine years ago as a reporter in the Marco Island office and then joined the multimedia desk, where he worked as a web editor on the late shift before becoming an assistant content editor.
Jay worked as a reporter at Florida papers in Fernandina Beach and Palatka for about three years before coming to the Daily News. Jay earned his degree at the University of Florida. GO GATORS!
While at work (the afternoon to evening shift), Jay helps his fellow content editors by posting articles on naplesnews.com, managing the content on the Web site, using Twitter, Facebook and other social networking tools to get breaking news into the public's hand quicker than ever before, helps supervise various teams of reporters, edits and assigns stories and helps reporters polish their craft.
In his spare time, Jay enjoys reading, writing, camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing, computers, games and spending time with his two awesome children and beautiful wife.
